Hi, there! How ready are you for Easter? Me: Nope!
Have you bought the Easter-basket goodies? Me: Huh-uh!
Do you have your menu set? No!! I can’t make up my mind with all the Pinterest ideas I keep pinning!! Help!!
Have you made at least one of the Easter decorations or vignettes you’ve pinned? Me: Not a one. :( I think I’m living vicariously through Pinterest. :(
Okay…but have you at least set the time for your gathering and invited guests???? Me: Kind’a….sorta….the guests know we’re doing SOMETHING. Time to be determined.
Do you have a plan for your table yet? Me: Ummmm….no (in a meek voice).
I may not have it all together—at all—
…but I can help YOU!!
Well, with the table at least. :)
I’ve seen several PURPLE EASTER TABLES this year, so I thought I’d bring last year’s PURPLE table out again, seeing as PURPLE might be getting to be a trend. I hope it serves as inspiration and helps you get on track. Happy Easter to all! I hope the Easter bunny stops by your house, and I wish you the true blessings and joy of Easter.
I’d seen a gorgeous purple table on tumblr that served as a huge inspiration, but alas, woe is me…I don’t have the gorgeous amethyst Ajka goblets that ‘scaper (I haven’t been able to identify him/her, though believe me, I’ve tried, because I so wanted close ups of this table!) has. They’re pricey…I don’t think I can justify them for one.table. Oh, I’m sure I’d use them and sooooo thoroughly enjoy having them, but reason must prevail at times, I think someone once said. :(
So this is the Chickadee Home Nest version of a purple table, just in time for Easter, and spring, and flowers.
I’ve used these Limoges dishes for several tablescapes, and I’ve so enjoyed them. They were purchased at a local antique shop on a day when reason {happily} did not prevail. I remember the day well…summer-almost-fall sunny day. I almost ran to my car, clutching them in my arms, sure that they were going to call me back because they’d made a mistake on the price, but happily, they didn’t! The “chargers” are Lenox Eternal dinner plates.
I have eight of these dishes, but three different floral patterns.
Four of these beauties live with us.
And their rims are just as beautiful ~
It’s funny…I just realized, as I wrote about how beautiful they are, that I do that quite often—I talk about the beauty of items, as from afar; as though they don’t belong to me. And it occurs to me that that might sound like I’m going on and on about “things” I own, but it’s not that at all. I marvel at the mastery in all things beautiful, and I so enjoy others’ talents and vision in creating beautiful things. It’s really about them, and the creative process. I have vivid memories of my sweet grandmother doing that too, like admiring the stitchery in fine linens the same way…as just stating a fact. I’m just happy that these beautiful creations live with me so I can enjoy them!
So how did I partner these lovelies?
With lots of purples, to bring out the purple in them. I wrote about the silver goblets recently (a happy auction find!), and the crystal wines are big favorites of mine. The pattern is Pristine, made by Reizart at the time, which was eventually bought by Gorham. The pattern was discontinued in the early 70s. Unlike Waterford that is so heavy (and I also l-o-v-e), these stems are delicate and paper thin. Of the original set of 12 (waters, wines, and sherbets each) only a couple have small chips! I’m so glad I still have them and still like them!
Were you wondering if I’d forgotten the napkins? :) Nope! They’re here! I decided to do something different with them and stack them on a silver server (not visible in this picture), tied with a shimmery purple ribbon. They will be passed around the table, just like the bread will be, when all my imaginary guests are seated. (The real Easter table this year will involve birds and nests. :) )
As I often do, the grandchickadee’s high chair is part of the ensemble, this time with a mix of purple and white flowers. Little does he know that his high chair serves another purpose when he’s not here! :)
The centerpiece was created to give the illusion of a runner, extending the full length of the open center of the table.
Have you noticed the challenge of silverware placement on round placemats? The placemats don’t appear to be too small, but because we lose the valuable real estate of the corners, we have to get a little creative. So I moved the salad forks and teaspoons up a bit and liked it!
Some of the details (you know I love details!).
And now, as they say in Hollywood…
So, do you think I need those purple Ajka goblets? (There’s only one right answer, you know…because I’ll be reporting the results of this unbiased, statistically sound survey to Mr. CHN so he understands my “need.”)
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you’ll leave me a comment to let me know you were here—I’m thrilled to know you stopped by, and I’ll always visit back and comment too. If you like what you see, I invite you to follow me (I promise to follow back), and please—Pin away and follow me on Pinterest too! Thank you!!
NOTE: Some of the items I use in my posts are in my Etsy shop, but many are not, simply because I haven’t updated my shop. If you see something you like and wonder if it’s available for sale, email me at coral5252@gmail.com and let’s talk!

I love your tablescape! The colors are beautiful and the way you tied your napkins is precious! Love the plates! Your table looks so rich and full of warmth and love! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteYour tablescape is stunning - I love your dishes. Everything is perfect together and yes you need the glasses.
ReplyDeleteMary
Zuni, I've been looking forward to seeing how you used those gorgeous plates, and this tablescape does not disappoint! Absolutely gorgeous! As for whether or not you "need" the goblets... I'm going to abstain from voting since I don't think my "downsize mode" will allow me to answer honestly and still give you the desired response. :-)
ReplyDeleteZuni, This is beautiful. I think it's one of the most lovely tables that I have ever seen. I love the china, but how you put it together is just gorgeous. I vote yes on the goblets! There are some things in life that bring such pleasure that you need to have them :) Dianne
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those Limoges dishes! Thanks for your visit to my blog!
ReplyDeleteHere's my take on the Ajka goblets: They will help to fulfill a need that cannot be explained in mere words. For hubby to deny you these lovely delicacies would be a travesty of justice...nay, to suck the breath of life directly from your lungs! We live but for a short time on this earth, and to deny ourselves a few small pleasures is to deny ourselves the very essence of our purpose here: to LIVE!
ReplyDelete(Is he buying this pile of crap I'm heaping on?)
This is a beautiful tablescape, Zuni, and I know those goblets would be used for many, many, many more and then passed down to your sweet chickadee for future gorgeous settings. The details in this tablescape are fantastic! I like the idea of passing the napkins round the table. Very 2014! :-)
LOVE your take on the need for the goblets, Alycia! I knew I could count on you to give solid, rational reason to share with Mr. CHN. :) Zipping over to visit you back! ~Zuni
DeleteThis is just lovely. I have been looking for inspiration for my Easter table, and I just found it. I hadn't considered purple; don't know why. I especially like your runner-effect down the center of the table. My vote is "yes" on the goblets. When you can't get something off your mind, you must need them!
ReplyDeleteFirst I want to say that I love the name of your blog- too cute and I love the sentiment! Thank you for visiting my blog today - I see we both had a purple thing going on! Your dishes are beautiful- they look flawless! I like what you did with the napkins and all the purple flowers and vases. That's cute how you got the silverware to fit in. It can be a challenge as I've discovered, especially with my little 42" table! The goblets sound really intresting- I hope you can find out more about them. Happy First Day of Spring!
ReplyDeleteLove those plates and the purple and gold are great with them.
ReplyDeleteYour purples are divine and add to the drama of your table. If you've seen goblets you like, go for them. You will always find many uses for them to justify the cost.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes - you n-e-e-d those goblets (please report this to you-know-who!). I love this table, Zuni - it might be my favorite of yours. Everything is just perfect and I do adore those plates. I have done the same thing with the flatware, when I have used round placemats - we do have to improvised some times, don't we?? Love, love the purple - beautiful job!!
ReplyDeleteHay mi preciosa! The Limoges dishes are to die for and your tablescape is stunning! I don't care what you saw that you were smitten with, but I am with your table! The goblets, the napkins, and all the purple, makes for perfection! Gracias por tu visita bella...I so love it, you made my day!
ReplyDeleteHappy spring...enjoy your weekend.
FABBY
So so pretty and I absolutely love the idea of passing around the table napkins on a silver platter. I am going to do that next time I have a dinner party! Happy Spring
ReplyDeleteZuni, this is absolutely beautiful and so elegant! I love it!
ReplyDeletelove and blessings~

This looks beautiful, Zuni! The plates are fantastic! I appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,

Purple Passion caught my eye! I love it and especially all of the beautiful purple. Even the light shining through the window looks purple to me! What a fun way to display the napkins. I always love something unexpected.
ReplyDeleteI love all the purple! What a beautiful table setting. I am in love with the china..so delicate!
ReplyDeleteBlessings from Still Woods Farmhouse
Elegantly beautiful! First I would like to say I love your table. The silver goblets and the crystal wine glasses are as mush a part of the personality of this table as the Limoges plates. It is your table with your touches and it is beautiful. I have seen the Ajka cut to clear crystal and I do love it. I figure is it is meant to be that somehow they will come into your life when you least expect it. There will be a garage sale, an auction, or even a thrift store where the price will be right and you will be so happy. Maybe Hubby will gift them to you. My dear husband knew I wanted a set of Italian cobalt crystal that was cut to clear back in the seventies. I thought at over twenty dollars for each wine glass that I would never own those beautiful glasses. He paid for them one glass a week until he had the set paid for. They were my wedding anniversary gift.
ReplyDeleteI'm pinning this stunning and elegant table for inspiration! Love the purple!
ReplyDeleteAbrazos,
FABBY
Hi Zuni! Your tablescape is gorgeous! I'm so loving the purple!
ReplyDeleteOh my, what purple glory! I am in love with your purple Easter tablescape. You have decorated it perfectly and your dishes are divine! I think I am about ready to swoon :)
ReplyDeleteThan you, dear Zuni, for sharing with Roses of Inspiration. Hugs!
So very pretty. Your dishes are stunning!
ReplyDeleteYou are just taunting me, right? You know these are my favorite of all your dishes, right? Gorgeous, gorgeous table! It looks fantastic paired with purple, but I could easily see it paired with other colors as well. It works for Spring, and I could see it at Christmas as well. I'm with Alycia, you need to indulge in those purple goblets because you love purple so much! I know you'd use them frequently! The way you positioned your silverware was creative solution to the round placemats. Beautiful job, Zuni!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Purples. Such an elegant tablescape. Love what you did with the napkins. Have a nice weekend. Valerie R.
ReplyDeletegorgeous! I love both purple and lavender for Spring. Don't have a lot of it though. I'm on a hunt for the new purple ball jars. Your plates are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
