So today I go to a Kroger Marketplace, and as I browse through their housewares I immediately recognize the tan and white stripe and BOMBAY lettering in a large vignette!
Was I happy, or was I sad? I was happy to see that the company is still alive, but sad that it would be in a Kroger. Remember how pretty their stores at the mall were? According to their website, they are also found at Fred Meyer and through QVC.
Do you remember the logo/the lettering? It looked so familiar to me; I was surprised that I remembered it so well. |
No doubt about it--some of the pieces were pretty. This silk orchid was beautiful. I think it was around $40. |
And how about this pretty one for only $12?! The box behind it was lovely; it looks like a book, but it's a box for saving pretty things. Yes, that might need a GOOD home too. |
They also had furniture--at VERY reasonable prices. They looked pretty enough. Remember they always had nice accent tables? Still do. |
Some of their tables and bookcases, etc. |
They also had nice Christmas decorations. I especially liked these deer candle holders. I think they were $40 each. |
So, please tell me--do you remember the "old" Bombay? Do you miss it?
Are you sad that it's at Kroger now, or are you happy to know they're
still in EXISTENCE?
Thanks for stopping by. Please leave me a comment to let me know you were here—I read every single one of them! They encourage me and inspire me. And if you like what you see a lot J, maybe you’d like to +1 this post too!

ReplyDeleteNeat post! I do like Bombay stores.Joann
ReplyDeleteI love the wire cloche. We don't have a Kroger or Fred Myers near me. I do remember Bombay...
ReplyDeleteI'd heard that Bombay was making a comeback, but I never expected it to be in a KROGER! Not sure how I feel about that, but it sure makes for an odd first impression! I'll still make a trip to Kroger in Knoxville to see if Bombay's there yet, so I guess they've accomplished their mission. :-) Thanks for the scoop!
ReplyDeleteOh, I LOVED Bombay Company and was so sorry when it closed. I'm checking out the Kroger Marketplace. I think there's a new one not too far from us. Thanks for the tip. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I miss them too. Krogers? Really? That is a pretty nice display for Krogers. We used to shop that store too but sadly they are not in my area now. I loved that cloche too. Thanks so much for sharing it all on Motivated Monday at BeColorful. Now I'm motivated to find a Kroger's somewhere along my travels. :)

I do miss Bombay. Towards the end, I though they had gotten a bit pricey. I always loved all of their blue and white.

I LOVED Bombay and was so sad when it closed! I too loved the mall storefronts and miss those little red "sale" tags...they have the most amazing sales!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoyed going to the mall and browsing the Bombay store. I don't have any of these stores near me-in fact I thought they were grocery stores-lol , I'm glad to hear they are still around I would love the reindeer and the chicken wire cloche
ReplyDeleteHi Zuni! Thanks for coming by my blog and following! I'm following you now too. : )
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Bombay! I was so sad when they closed down although I'd heard they were still in Canada. I used to buy from them quite a bit and loved their table sales. Remember them? $49.00 accent tables. I'm glad to hear they are at Kroger and will have to go look around next time I'm over that way. Just from your pictures I see a few things I'd like.
I like this amazing crockery collection. This is amazing post. I like all items in this post. This post is really very informative.
